The Quiet Place: Daily Devotional Readings by Nancy Leigh DeMoss

This little book is just what I needed for a fresh dose of encouragement in Christ each morning. The author points out in the introduction that a daily devotional is not meant to take the place of Bible reading but should point us to the Word. This one has done that for me over the past few weeks. The 366 dated pages are similar in form to other devotionals, but so far each one has stirred my heart with the focus verses, stories, and application questions. Each reading is a well written, engaging, and inspiring way to begin the day. I also like the blue leather-bound cover design and ribbon bookmark. An index of Scriptures shows how comprehensive the content is, and I look forward to reading through the rest of it this year. Nancy Leigh DeMoss has written many bestselling books and hosts a radio program for women, “calling them to freedom, fullness, and fruitfulness in Christ”. I am so glad I found this devotional because I always need motivation in this direction and would recommend it for any woman desiring the same.
