Living Life Undaunted by Christine Caine

These “365 readings and reflections” are short and sweet snippets of daily encouragement to pursue a bold life of faith. I had to look up the definition of undaunted, and this is what I found:

adjective \ˌən-ˈdn-təd, –ˈdän-\

: not afraid to continue doing something or trying to do something even though there are problems, dangers, etc.

The pages that I’ve read so far reflect the reality that following Jesus will involve obstacles and challenges, but He always gives greater grace and strength. The author divided the devotional book into four sections entitled Broken, Loved, Empowered, and Commissioned. The readings progress from recognizing our deep need for God, to knowing we are chosen by God, to understanding we are strengthened by the Holy Spirit, to challenging us to reach out to others with the good news. Only one Scripture verse is included for each date, but readers can choose to go to the Bible for the context. The author writes from her personal experience of trusting the Lord despite her fears and seeing Him act mightily in her life and ministry. I find that a short devotional can help focus my Bible reading and prayers each morning as I pursue my Heavenly Father and open my heart to His guidance for the day.images
